A realiable source of nutritious food for the winter. Growing Parsnip is very similar to growing carrots.

Parsnip have depth of taste that improves in sweetness and flavour by cold weather and frost. Parsnip seed germinates slowly (2-3 weeks), sow thickly in rich soil. Thin out when plants are 10cm tall. Water well. Over sow radishes along the same row as the parsnips, as these germinate they will indicate the row and will be ready to eat by the time the parsnips have germinated
