A relative of Broccoli and Cauliflower, the seeds as well as leaves of the plant are used. Plants can grow tall and thrive under cooler conditions. Do not plant close to Basil, Climbing beans, and Tomato.

All parts of the Mustard plant—shoots, leaves, flowers, whole seed – powdered, or prepared— are used as savory food. Use young leaves raw in salads, cook older leaves as cabbage and use seeds for pickling and spice
