- Step 1: Combine green (wet) and brown (dry) materials
- Step 2: Sprinkle the pile with water regularly (not too much!)
- Step 3: Stir up the pile (this gives it oxygen)
- Step 4: It’s ready when the pile looks brown and crumbly, and no longer gives off heat
- Step 5: Feed your compost to the garden and watch everything flourish
